Privacy
This site belongs to Sander de Vries, Leeuwarden, NL. This page says what it collects when you visit it or send a message, and what happens with that. Questions about it go to [email protected].
Visiting the site
Every page passes through Cloudflare, which delivers the site and keeps attacks away, and is then served by my own server. Both see what any website sees: your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for. That is used to deliver and protect the site, is not combined with anything else, and is not kept longer than is needed for that.
Cookies and storage
- sanderr_like_id: when you like an article, a random number is stored in this cookie for a year, so the same visitor cannot like one article more than ten times. It says nothing about who you are.
- On the music page your browser remembers which view of the record shelf you picked, in its own storage. That never leaves your device.
The music page
The record covers load from Discogs, and the music plays through YouTube’s player, which loads when you press play (on phones and tablets as soon as the page opens). Your browser then connects to Discogs and to YouTube (Google), which see your IP address and can set their own cookies.
Sending a message
The contact form sends your name, email address and message to me by email, at [email protected]. The email is delivered by Resend, a service that handles the message only to deliver it. They are not stored on the site. I use them to answer you and keep the conversation in my mailbox for as long as it is useful. I do not pass them on to anyone else or add you to a mailing list.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use: email [email protected] and I will answer within a month. If you think I handle your data wrongly, you can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
