The brief
Challenge
Intence Mode is my parents' clothing store in Bolsward. Their WordPress site had become slow and cluttered: changing the opening hours or a photo meant working through an admin full of plugins.
Approach
Rebuilt as a one-page site in Astro on EmDash, a CMS that lives in the site itself. The content sits in SQLite and the images on the server's own disk, so there is no external service left to maintain. With it came a new design: beige and brown, one typeface, flat without shadows.
Outcome
Live at intencemode.nl, on my own server. The store edits the page as blocks, in the same order as they appear on the site.
The one-pager
One page with everything a visitor comes for: the week's opening hours right under the first screen, who the store is, what is new on Facebook, and where to find it, with a map.
On a phone
The same page in one column, with the opening hours and the address within reach.
The design system
The colours, the type and the components the site is built from have a style guide page of their own.
