OnderhoudJe is a digital service book for a car, motorbike or camper: maintenance, costs, invoices and the periodic inspection in one place. A product of my own, with a website, a web app and an iOS app from one codebase.

The brief
Challenge
A car's history lives in a paper booklet in the glovebox and in a pile of invoices. It is easily lost, and it is rarely complete on the day you sell the car or stand at the garage.
Approach
It starts with one field: the licence plate. Make, model, year and inspection date come from the RDW, the Dutch vehicle authority. After that every service, cost and invoice is kept per vehicle, with reminders by push or e-mail. One Expo codebase for the web and iOS, on a Fastify API with PostgreSQL.
Outcome
What started in February 2025 as a study project is live at onderhoudje.nl and in alpha: the website and the web app, free for two vehicles. The iOS app is built from the same code.
The website
The public site explains the product and what it costs, which for two vehicles is nothing.
How it works
- Fill in a licence plate: make, model, year and inspection date come from the RDW
- Log what happens: a service, new tyres or a repair, with the amount, the mileage and the invoice
- Get reminded in time, by date or by mileage
The app
A vehicle with its mileage and next inspection, the history of everything done to it, and what it has cost. Shown with the example car from the website.
