About
The maker
I’m a full-stack developer at Basticom, working on custom websites and web applications. Alongside my job, I work freelance as Sanderr, building websites and webshops for businesses in Bolsward and Sneek.
My background combines Application Development and Communication & Multimedia Design in Leeuwarden. I work across frontend and backend using React, Next.js, TypeScript, PHP and WordPress. I’ve tracked 1,324 hours and 53 minutes Updated 60 hours ago of coding so far, including 0 minutes Updated just now today. Away from my desk, I’m often DJing, looking for records, reading or following whatever has caught my interest.
Operating principles
Clear decisions, short loops and something real to react to.
-
Find the actual need
Before choosing a stack, I clarify the goal, the user and the smallest version worth building.
-
Build the right amount
I choose the simplest stack that fits, then move quickly into something real enough to test and improve.
-
Refine the experience
Responsive behaviour, subtle motion, accessible choices, readable code and a clear CMS turn a working build into a finished product.
The stack
In 10 years, 9 months and 24 days of building for the web, I’ve worked across frontend, backend, CMSs and automation. These are the tools I keep coming back to.
This month my most-used language was Markdown 42 hours and 24 minutes this month · 30% of my coding, and most of that time went to tilde 36 hours and 51 minutes this month · 26% of my coding.
Writing
Code, machines and nerdy things
